Rick Recht has just completed three big projects. The first two are a live album and film both titled Shabbat Alive LIVE. Both are based on Recht's ever-popular Shabbat Alive service. The film, with an early November release date, includes interviews with teens and Jewish leaders highlighting their connection with Judaism through the Shabbat Alive experience. An accompanying curriculum has been created for educational purposes. The Shabbat Alive LIVE CD, with an October release date, is a collection of the musical selections from the service. The third project is a new Jewish rock album entitled, Tear Down The Walls. This album centers on themes of social justice and dismantling racism, and the CD booklet includes wonderful educational definitions and tips on ways to take action to breakdown racism in a community. The album also features special teen guests from African American, white, Jewish and Christian communities. Tear Down The Walls is part of an initiative launched by Rick Recht with the support of the Anti-Defamation League to educate teens and families about racism, discrimination, and prejudice and ways to create a safer and more welcoming environment for all people.
