QUESTION:  Who are we to encourage others to get involved and make a positive difference in this world?  ANSWER:  Well, we're all living and breathing and making our world a better place might be our main reason for being here on earth ... so here's a few really cool organizations to check out who are doing just that!

ONE:   A campaign of over 2.4 million people and growing from all 50 states and over 100 of America's most well-known and respected non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organizations. As ONE, we are raising public awareness about the issues of global poverty, hunger, disease and efforts to fight such problems in the world's poorest countries. As ONE, we are asking our leaders to do more to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. ONE believes that allocating more of the U.S. budget toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water and food would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the world's poorest countries.
 

MOVEON: The MoveOn family of organizations brings real Americans back into the political process. With over 3.2 million members across America - from carpenters to stay-at-home moms to business leaders - we work together to realize the progressive promise of our country. MoveOn is a service - a way for busy but concerned citizens to find their political voice in a system dominated by big money and big media.
 
Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism:  The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (“the RAC”) is the Washington, DC, office of the Union for Reform Judaism (Union). The RAC has been the hub of Jewish social justice and legislative activity in the nation’s capital for more than 40 years. The RAC educates and mobilizes the American Jewish community on legislative and social concerns, advocating on issues from economic justice to civil rights to religious liberty to Israel.

TEAR DOWN THE WALLS: utilizes the power of popular rock music to inspire and educate youth about ways to break down bias and prejudice in their communities. Tear Down the Walls also strives to educate the public about the social action organizations existing in their communities and specific ways to support them and get involved. Produced and directed by Rick Recht, the initiative consists of interfaith, multi-cultural community concerts, youth leadership training classes, workshops, and interfaith services.
